Hi everyone- Today has been a rather strange week day. It was storming when I got up and it had been lightening and thundering for hrs before that, I think it started about 3 am. My coffee was already brewed when I got up (thank Heavens) and I knew that we had to take Jim's truck up to the repair shop by 9am. So , Jim was up soon after me. He had only been up a few minutes and we heard this loud boom and the lights and everything were out. We think a transformer was hit. So here we are sitting in the dark, A person doesn't realize how much we rely on electricity in our everyday lives. No lights, T.V. computer, toaster, coffee pot, stove, Microwave. That's when you and your partner better have something to talk about!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
We took Jim's truck up town and picked up the boys and came home and everything was still off. Then pufffff, it was back on for a total of 3 seconds and we heard another boom and everything was gone again! That's when we decided to go to Wally World ! We were gone about 2 hrs and when we got back everything was on. The boys weren't real happy, they were hoping we would have to go out for lunch.
The wind managed to break a big branch on the Walnut tree in the back yard, it's still hanging up there- so we have to figure out how to get it down. That will be a job for tomorrow. After spending $700 on the repairs for the truck, I didn't feel up to doing any yard work!!!
We got a box sent off to Scott today- it's mostly packed full of goodies for him and a few not so fun things, like shampoo and stuff. I guess it takes about 2 weeks to get to Afghanistan from here. Kim just sent one a few days ago, so they will be spaced apart by a few days.
