Hi all- how has your week been? It has went really fast for me, but not for Jim, but he had to work the last 4 days and I haven't! Could that be the reason, I wonder? LOL
I went walking with Chinook the other morning and it had rained and froze and of course, clumsy me , I slipped and fell. We must have hit a real slippery spot because Chinook went down too. I must have twisted my foot, because it has been really hurting the last couple days. Chinook didn't get her walk today, but I'm going to have to take her out tomorrow. Sore foot or not!
I have gotten a couple scrapbook pages done- I will post them on here if you want to go and peek at them.
Gotta go and try to get a few more things done on here before I go to bed.

Hi everyone. The wordart that I posted the other day didn't have an active link for you to download it, it does now. I did it from my laptop and for some reason when I post a link from there it is never active. Can someone tell me why and what I can do to correct this. I must have something turned off on my laptop , but I have no idea what. I have checked everything that I know to check. Any help would be appreciated.
I have added a few new jokes and a few new layouts have you looked around on here lately? Take a look if you have time.
Jim is back to work for the next 5 nights, so I will be getting a bit more scrapping done- at least I hope so.
I have been looking thru my cookbooks and going on line to different sites looking for something new to cook. Have any of you watched Pioneer Woman on T.V yet. I watched her the other day and loved the show.
She makes cooking look so easy and fun!! And it even looks like it taste good when she gets done with it. I don't know why I watch these cooking shows, cause I really don't like cooking any more- much rather eat out! HeHe!!!
Well better get back to some scrapbooking, I want to see if I can get at least one more layout done tonight while I'm watching the Hockey game. The Minnesota Wilds against Colorado- right now it's 2-2 in second period.

Hi, not much to post about today. Kathy and Lonny and girls were down for a visit today for a few hours, was good to sit down and visit for a bit and get caught up on things. Rhonda came over and watched part of the Football game with us.
We did get the garage door all finished and it's up and working. I should say Jim got it done, I was just there to hold onto the screws and stuff.
No school tomorrow ,so we will have Brady and Zach here in the afternoon and then on Tuesday Rhonda starts her training. So we will have the boys a bit more then usual, which will be nice.

Something we can laugh about instead of getting depressed when things don't go quite how we planned or hoped.
And how has your week been going so far? It's going ok here, haven't gotten a whole lot done this week, but I am keeping up on everything that has to be done and even getting a few small project done that I have been meaning to do. One of those is saving my pictures onto to cds. I do a copy for me and for each of the 3 kids. Usually I keep up with it pretty good, but not lately- had a lot of pictures to download. And then you know what, I discovered that a bunch of them were duplicated- so I have a whole lot of double [pictures on my cds! Talk about feeling like a ditts!
I helped Jim a bit today out in the garage/putting in a new garage door/ on the coldest day of the winter that we have had so far! Do you see something wrong with this picture?
I told you about the dishwashing leaking and now we have to replace either some of our hardwood flooring or all of it, depending if we can still buy the pattern that we have down on floor now. I did find a piece of it up-stairs in attic today, so we will have to check and see if they still make it. If not I found the "new" kind I want! WooHoo it's the old plank look and it will look great in my 100 year old kitchen. It is a bit spendy, but I think a person should get what they like~~~right? Help me out here friends.
Well, I better get off here and go finish watching the hockey game with hubby. Have a great Friday everyone.

Just a short post tonight, it's been a long day. I have been up since 4am and it's now just about 10pm. and it's going to be another early morning tomorrow. I do get a lot done when Jim works this day shift and I stay up when he leaves for work at 5. It just makes for a short night. LOL

Hi - where is everybody, it doesn't seem like there is anyonearound since Christmas. I know its tough getting back to normal after the Holidays.

And then with the extra warm weather none of us cozy down in the evening in front of the fire. I live in a college town, so we have the college kids jogging in their shorts, it's the first week in Jan in Minnesota for pete

sakes- I mean really! It's warm, but not that warm.

We took our truck in for a oil change yesterday that normally costs us around $12 and by the time we went to get it last night we had a bill for $780! Yep the tieRods were shot and needed to be replaced. The guys said we were lucky we made it home from Colorado with the truck. We had the wheel bearings on one side go out on it on our way to Colorado, so now we have a brand New Front -End! And how was your week? LOL

I'm finally getting caught up around here, it seems like I have been running in circles and was never going to get done.
I love Christmas!! .. but I am so glad that it is over!!! Does that sound terrible of me? I have been visiting other blogs and I am hearing that from others too. It's such a stressed time..so many thing to do. I know.. I know.. we can only blame ourself. I -for one. shouldn't commit to more things then I can handle. I need to learn to say no. Maybe I can do that next year. LOL
We have been home for a week already, where has the time went? Jim worked the last 3 days, so he has the next 4 days off- he works 3 -12 hr days a week. At the end of the month he grabbed a few days of over time- yucks- he will be working 9 nights (midnight shift) out of 10! His butt will be dragging at the end of those 2 weeks. And he probably won't be the easiest person to live with by the end either.
Well better go and get supper started. We are having hot beef sandwiches with mashed pototoes and gravy. simply but good. My kinda meal.

Happy New Year Everyone! I finally decided to pop back in here ! LOL It's seems like forever since I have posted anything.
We had a Wonderful time in Colorado and a great Christmas with the kids and Grandkids.
We had a little truck trouble on the way there, so we got into the kids a little later then we planned, but over all the trip there and back went really good. The weather was great for traveling, even tho we didn't have much snow for Christmas.
I got all my Christmas decorations and tree down and put away, now it's just getting my house all cleaned up. yuck!
We spent New Years Eve at home with friends. Went for supper and then came back here and had a few drinks, snacks and played cards. A quiet evening , but nice one.
It's cold and windy this morning- down to 16 degrees , but the windchill makes it below 0. We have so much ice on the road and sidewalks, so I don't know if I'll take the dog for her walk this morning or not.
I decided to do you all up some New Year wordart, there are 3 different one, so hope you can use at least one of them.

Hi I will be doing a few Christmas/santa ones for the next few post. Hope you can use them.

It rained here all day yesterday, so all of our snow is gone. I love to have snow for Christmas, but we are leaving here on the 23rd (driving) for Colorado, so now I'm hoping it doesn't do any thing until we get left. Cross your fingers for us!

One of my best friends is coming for a visit next Monday , her and her husband are from up-north and will spend a couple of days with us before they head over to Wis. to spend Christmas with their kids and grandkids.

Got a pot-roast in the crock-pot for supper tonight , so I spend most of my day on the computer. Haven't had a play day for a while and haven't done any scrapbooking forever, am starting to have with-drawals!

Hi all, I thought this wordart would fit a lot of us around this time of the year. I know....It's a beautiful time, a wonderful time to be with family and friends, but it's als a stressful time for most of us . I know that some days between shopping, baking, Christmas Letters and cards, wrapping presents and all the other stuff that come around this time of year, I feel like i'm in a nut house or wish someone would send me to one. LOL
It got pretty warm here today in the mid 30's and I have been freezing all day. I was just outside with the dog -it's 9:30 at night and it's melting off the roof (snow and ice). So why have I been cold all day?
Yuck tomorrow is Monday. Did you all have a great weekend? I didn't do much, but it went way to fast. Have a great week .

Hi, How is the weather where you live? It's very cold here, but i'm sure it will be getting colder. LOL I was out walking the dog at 7am this morning, just at the start of day break and it was just a little nippy. And there wasn't very many other people out at that time of the morning. I guess they had a few more brains then I did. But I know I will be out again tomorrow morning too. What does that tell you about me?
Got all of my Christmas shopping done and I think all my baking. I did up the date filled cookies today and I think they were the last of my baking for Christmas. My freezer is stuffed full of stuff to take to Colorado.
We have two of our grandsons spending the night with us, Rhonda is at her "work" Christmas party. So we get to spend a little time with our boys, which is so nice. I get them from school 3 or 4 days a week and make them come home with me at least one afternoon a week, and then Rhonda picks them up after she gets off work.

hi, just a short post tonght. I'm heading to bed in a few minutes, it seems like it has been forever
since I got up this morning. And I haven't really worked too hard today.
I noticed the other morning that the wood flooring in my kitchen was warping or like it had gotten wet. But I didn't see any water, then this afternoon while I was vaccuming I noticed water seeping up between the boards! Sure enough my dishwater was leaking and the water was running under the wood flooring! Ya you guessed it, we are going to have to replace half of the wood flooring in the kitchen after christmas. Not something that we were planning on doing for another few years, it's only been about a year and a half since we laid it. Such is life.

Hi everyone, just got back from shopping. I had a great time today with my daughter and a friend of her's ( which is like a 3rd daughter to me). Anyway we shopped for a bit and then went and had lunch and then shopped some more! We were all shopped out about 3 o'clock and then headed home. It's a good thing we were done, the snow storm that they have been talking about for the last 3 days finally decided to hit- full force! The 20 minute drive home was a little touch and go, just about kissed the ditch a couple of times. There are cars all over in the ditches, so I guess we were lucky .
Got Most of my Christmas shopping done-yah!!! I do have to get a few things wrapped and then packed for the trip to Colorado.
I went last night and decided to do something with my cooking blog, if you get a chance go take a look. There isn't much on there yet, but I'm going to try to keep adding my most favorite recipes. The link is up on the left hand corner of this blog.

Hi everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend. Weather was so-so here- no snow, so that is a plus. They did get hit up in the Northern part of Minn with quite a bit of snow, but it didn't work its way down here, thank goodness. I'm sure we will be getting more soon enough.
Jim is deer hunting again( down here) this time so he goes out for a few hours on his days off.
I finished up the 6th quilt today and got that wrapped and a few other gifts wrapped. I don't know yet what I'm going to tackle tomorrow. I guess I'll wait and see what tomorrow brings my way.

We got our first snow tonight, not much only about a inch or two, but it's darn cold and the wind is really blowing. I think it is just the beginning of things to come! LOL I worked more on my quilts, got all of them sewed, just have some tacking to do on them. That feels great.

Ok how many of you have already or are doing it this weekend? "PUTTING UP YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE" I haven't got my Christmas spirit yet, I don't think. Where or where did it go and when is it coming back? We re going to Colorado for Christmas, but we'll only be there for about 5 days, so it isn't like we won't be here to enjoy all the decorations

"that I usually put up". I'm trying to talk myself into decorating. Help me out people, convince me that I need to decorate my house this year.

Hi, just a quick post so that I can get this added on here. It's cold this morning, and it was yesterday morning too. It's 16 degrees here now! Brrrr. I am still going to have to get my buns out and walk Chinook this morning, because she didn't get a walk yesterday. She had a vets appointment for her yearly stuff. She now weights 74 lbs! Up from 68 last year. We both need the diet! Poor thing, she loves her treats just like I love my chocolate!

This will probably be the last freebie until I get back from up North, I will be gone until the 13th of Nov. Unless of course I figure out how to post date these, don't know if I have time to figure it out tonight.
We are leaving here a t 4am, so it will be a short night as far as getting a lot of sleep. It's a 6 hour drive up there and when we get there everything is cold. no heat in the cabin. Everything has to be started up . We use propane for our cook stove and fuel oil for the heater and we have gas lights. It's very woodsy!! No TV , but we at least have our cell phones now,we never use to have phones either. We got modernized!!
now to a subject that is rather sad. I had 86 people download the last freebie and not a single person left a "Hello" or "Thanks". Now I know that everyone is in a hurry and it's so easy to download and get on to the next one. Hey --I'm not guilt-less either, but boy I really try to at least let them know who I am when I stop by their blog or site. It makes those persons feel that their time that they spent on the freebies is a little bit appreciated and just that people like what they do! So try to remember to take that extra minute and post a comment.

Been busy getting last minute things together for our trip up north and even got most of my suitcase packed tonight. Jim is working tonight and tomorrow night, so I'm just playing around on the computer and watching Dancing With The Stars. Any of you's watch it? I love it, tho I do get up-set when some of the ones that should get kicked off don't and those that shouldn't do. This season has been really bad for that!

I thought some of you might like this for your halloween Pictures that you are going to scrap. I did the 2 verisons, so take your pick. whatever may work for you.

I got all (I think) of my halloween treats that I should need. got 7 bags of the 22 count little bags of chips- that makes 154 bags (kids). Every year I end up shutting my lights off by 6:30 or 7 o'clock. Maybe I should get one more bag! Whata ya think?

We live on one of the main streets in town and it's close to the college, which shouldn't make any difference, but it seems too.

Jim is off for the next 2 days, so will have to get our last minute stuff done before we head up North. We have to go and find a birthday gift for our son tomorrow, his birthday is on the 6th and we won't be here, he won't either, he will be with us up North. He's going up for part of the week, can't stay up there the whole time like we do. There will only be the 3 hunters this year, on a normal year we have usually 5 or 6, and some years we have had as many as 14 of us up there. Lots of fun! Life has a way of changing so many things. Some is for the good and some isn't! But then I guess that is why it's called life:)

Well better get this finished- the Wilds Hockey Game will be starting in about a half hour and I want to watch it.

Hi everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend. It was a rather layed back one here,we didn't do a lot, but got some odd and ends jobs done before we head up North for hunting season. I got all the meals cooked and a lot of the stuff packed that I can do ahead of time. Got all my crafts stuff together and packed. Jim started gathering his hunting stuff up, at least it's sitting in the spare bedroom!
I got two more quilts pinned together tonight , ready to start sewing whenever I get a few extra minutes where I feel like sewing. I'm hoping to get these two sewed before we leave for up North and then I'll only have 3 left to finish when we get back.

I decided that I would post this afternoon instead of tonight. I wanted to add a few of the older ones for you all, (who ever is out there).

I would love it if you all would leave a little love. I know you are there, I just don't hear from very many of you Why is that?

I finally got all 6 of the quilt tops sewed together, now I have to go and buy whatever I'm going to put on the back of them. I already bought the filler for them. I cheated. I found some blankets on sale for 5 bucks a piece so I bought 5 of them, cheaper then fiberfill, and it works the same.

I feel a lot less stressed now that I got them all sewed together. My pillows are slowly getting done too. I will have to post a picture or two when I get every thing done. Now I have to start on my calenders again.

Whew- talk about not running out of things to get done!

We finally got rain here today and they are saying maybe more tonight. We do need more. Jim and I went up to the clinic today and got our flu shots, it only took a minute and didn't cost us any thing. For those of you that get sick during the colder months, you should think about going and getting one. I know I used every excuse to not get one too- but I started getting mine about 3 years ago and it really does make a different on how much I have been sick. I actually enjoyed last winter and was out side in the cold and snow a lot. Just saying..........hint hint......... LOL

Hi All.. I thought I better post this freebie soon, as our weather is about to change here and probably where you are at too. I also should have added DRY to the wordart, we haven't had rain here for weeks and the fire danger is really high thru-out the state. We are suppose to get some rain this week, sure hope so.

Today we went and picked up Jims 4-wheeler, it was in the shop getting some repairs done on it, so now its home and ready for hunting season. ya! We headed off to Apple Valley after that and shopped for shells, gun sling snacks for the deer stand, alum. pans for me (at the Dollar Tree) so I can cook the meals for us ahead of time for hunting season. I also picked up some Christmas bobble heads to paint while we are up there ( I do up a tree ornament every year for each of the grandkids) This year I found these cute little bobble head santa, reindeer, Mrs Clause and a few others to paint while we are sitting in the cabin. I'm taking my computer and will be doing scrapbooking (we won't have internet, but we have the generator so I can still use my graphic program. So I should get a ton of wordart done too, and I'll be able to catch up on my reading!

And did I tell you, that the last time we were up there I ran into a girl friend that I grew up with that I haven't seen in Years! Talk about shocked! We are going to make plans to get together while i"m up there and get to know each other again! I can't wait!

Well better get the rest of my work done before 'Dancing With The Stars' starts, can't miss that. LOL

Well, finally I got 4-share to work for me. The computer just hasn't been liking me to much this week.

I was busy most of the day cooking, but got everything ready for tomorrow, so will only have a little bit to do and I can enjoy visiting with the family when everyone gets here.

I also started my menu for the 9 days that we will be up North at the cabin for hunting season the first part of Nov. gosh the time is flying, we will be turning the clocks back in another month too! It's getting dark early now, but just wait until Nov. Of Course that just gives me a reason to get into my PJs a little earlier at night! LOL I was telling that to a few friends the other day and they get into them earlier then I do! Any of you do that- just wait for evening so you can get comfortable in your PJs?

I'm in mine now, jim is working tonight and I know that no one is coming over , so why not.?

Have a good one everyone. I'm having a birthday supper for my mom and daughter on sunday. One has a birthday on the 8th and the other on the 12th, so I decided to do something together for the 2 of them. My brother and his wife are here from Missouri for a couple of days, so mom will have all 3 of her kids here together.
Tomorrow I will be spending my day cooking -I think.
I do up calenders ((flip top ones) for the desk -for myself and kids and a couple of friends every years and usually I'm trying to get them done and printed off the last week before Christmas ( always leave things to the last minutes!) Anyway I actually started them tonight~~~Yep I got Jan, Feb and March done and printed off. I'm so darn proud of myself!! LOL

Hi All~~~ Hope you have all had a good week so far. Mine has been pretty good--rather busy, but at least I feel like I actually got something accomplished. Today I got our deck 95% stained. I will finish the rest tomorrow morning. It was so windy today I just about got blown away a couple times! LOL Lots of branches on the ground now that I have to clean up too. yuck!

Jim works thru Sat night and Sunday afternoon he is going turkey hunting, they made it all month long this year (The Fall season) ~ so I don't think I will see much of him during the month of Oct.

My last couple of days have went very well.. got a lot done, that both me and Jim were worrying about getting completed before he went back to work this week. Those are marked off our list, and we will slowy get the rest done before the snow hits us in the face! I'm going to try to get our deck stained this week while he is working (midnight shift) or sleeping.

we are going with a toner instead of a stain, we're hoping this holds up better then the stain. Winter shoveling is a killer on deck boards! LOL

Hi all... I'm sure we all at one time or another have felt like someone was looking at us or hinting at us like "your stupid is showing". I think I had one of those moments today as a matter of fact! LOL Anyway I thought it was cute and hope someone can use it.

Jim is off work tomorrow , so we are going to power wash our deck and try to get some kinda sealer on it. Anyone have any idea what is a good deck sealer? The one we used last year didn't do so good. I don't remember what it was, but think I still have the can up in the attic. I will have to check that out tomorrow. it has to with-stand snow and rain, besides we're shoveling the snow off of it too, so theres a lot of scraping going on. yuck..... did I use that word? Hi, this is how i have felt the last 2 days,maybe i will get caight up tomorrow, I can only hope! LOL I guess it really isn't that bad, I did get a lot done today. the cable guy was suppose to be here between 10 and 12 and of course it was noon when he walked in the door. so the 2 hours before he got here were pretty much wasted. I couldn't clean in the basement or mow the grass, so I putts around getting very little done.

It was a whole lot cooler today tho and is suppose to be even cooler tomorrow- I like I like!

I have been up since 4 am (when Jim got up for work) so it is a early to bed night for us.

Hi All, It seems like forever since I have been on here. I had a great week with our friends visiting and we all enjoys our town "Jessie James Days".
But I can really say I'm glad that our town is going to be back to normal tomorrow. Way too many people! Thousands of extra people in a town of 17,000 is a lot!! All of townies even do our grocery shopping a few days before hand so we don't have to go down town!
We did go down town and had some fair food and watched some lawnmower tracker pulls. " You are a redneck if~~~~~" ! LOL
We also went and watched the rodeo and made it to both craft shows and spent way too much money.
Our friends headed home this morning and Jim goes back to work tomorrow , and I have a ton of things to get done. Cleaning- should mow the yard, cause Jim didn't get time to do it today, grocery shopping and alot of dirty clothes!
After tomorrow its suppose to cool down into the 60's- sure hope so this 90 degree weather isn't to my liking!
The word art today is not what I better feel like tomorrow!

Hi everyone, how is everyone tonight, fine I hope. The temp is dropping now , so it looks like tomorrow is going to be a cool day. They say from yesterday (just about 100 degrees) to down in the 40 tomorrow night its going to be like 60 degrees difference! Wow I can't wait! Got up this morning and it was as hot as "HELL" in here. The A.C. had quit working during the night. Lucky for us, one of our good friends runs a A.C. and furance business and he came and fixed us up!

A couple more days and some good friends of ours are coming from up North to visit. I invited them down for Jessie James Days. So we are going to take in the rodeo, lots of Fair food and some really neat craft shows. We'll send the men to the Car Show!!

Jim is off for a couple of days and I think tomorrow we will go find a camp ground that some friends are staying at for a few days and see how things are going for them.

I am going to have to clean house too in the next couple of days--darm!!

Especially now that my cleaning fairy is missing!!

We got back late last night from our cabin up north. We had a great time
4 wheeling and just enjoying the time with the kids and 2 granddaughters. The weather was beautiful for being out and riding the trails in the woods. They are getting ready for bear hunting up there now and we seen a ton of bear bait spots that the hunters are using. No bears tho.

Hi All~~~ It's been a quiet weekend for me. Jim worked all weekend and I just putted with a little be of everything. I did some wordarts, some scrapbook pages - sewed a little on the quilts and even got out of the house today and went to my granddaughters softball game. Tomorrow is Monday so -drat~~ I probably should clean house and figure out a few menus for meals for us up at the cabin this coming Thursday thru Sat..
I also have to start washing my windows, I was standing out side a bit ago with the dog (it's dark out) and I was looking into the house and the windows really need cleaning! Where oh where is my cleaning fairy?

Hi I did have this done once and then I screwed up so had to redo it!
Hope you all have had the same great weather that we have had the last 3 or 4 days. It's been so nice to have the A.C. turned off and the windows open, so that the nice breeze is blowing in. It's been great sleeping at night too. I know that summer is coming to a close and it won't be to many months and we will have the cold and snow and will wish for some heat, but OH I really like this time of the year! Slap me I know, I can't help it!
I have been really lazy the last few days. Haven't got a lot done on the computer. I have been busy cutting out fabric squares for quilts for the grandkids for Christmas gifts. I'm doing them each (5) a twin size fannel quilt. I'm cheating, I'm cutting 12 inch squares this time. But I decided if I really was going to get these done by Christmas I had better get my behind in gear and get started on them. So I put the leaf in my dining room table and set my sewing machine up. I figure I can sew a few rows together whenever I get the mood or a few extra minutes. I don't do much sewing amy more, I used to do a lot.
Oh Marlene --I was going to mention to you that all 3 of my kids were born in Canada too. We lived in a little town that was right on the border of the States and Canada, and decided to doctor over in Canada. They were born there, but never lived in Canada. I seen on your blog that you were Canadian born, so just had to mention it.

Hi, it's been a few days since i was on here, sorry about that. Life got in the way again! LOL No, really Jim had the last few days off from work and we were busy. We got a bunch of our trees and bushes trimmed and all of that hauled to the compost and got our trailer checked out before we head up North again in a couple of weeks. I really don't want to be sitting on the side of the freeway again. Jim started back to work tonight , he has a 4 night run of 12 hours, so he will be pooped when he comes off of this shift.
I'm dog sitting this weekend for our son's dog "Lucy" who is a little beagle and she isn't real fond of Chinook, but of course Chinook loves her and won't leave her alone. I'm trying to figure out what to do with the 2 of them tonight. I guess I'll have to bring Chinook into our room. Lonny and family are going up to Duluth and then into Wis. They make a trip up there every fall and the girls really look forward to it.

I finally opened my windows this afternoon and turned the A.C. off. Hopefully I can leave it off for a few days, temp and humidy is dropping and Jim is done with work for a few days. He is working Midnights so I have to have the windows closed while he is sleeping during the day or it gets to hot up-stairs with the air off.
How is the temp where you are all at? Hopefully you are getting a little relief too. We were suppose to get rain yesterday but that didn't happen. drat~~

Me and the boys tried to give chinook a bath today in a little pool--she wasn't having nothing to do with it! I couldn't drag her into it. so we just got her wet and shampooed her "by " the pool! LOL I think she was a little up-set with us for a while. But she is now clean!
Jim is working all weekend, they started Sunday work last week, so he will have 4 12 hour days this week. It's nice for a change, we can sure use the extra money, that's for sure.
His hand is still sore tho" so it will be a long week for him\, and a quiet weekend for me. I'm planning on getting a little bit of scrapbooking done.

Hi everyone, it's late but I thought I would post another freebie before I headed for bed.
We just got home a few hours ago from spending the weekend up North at our cabin. It was the weekend from Hell! It's a 6 hour drive up there and it took us 13 and a half hours. We had a wheel bearing go out of our trailer (the one hauling our 4 wheelers) about 2 1/2 hrs into our trip. Here we are broke down along interstate 35. on a Sat morning. We had 2 trucks9 friends of ours went with theirs too). The guys finally got the broken piece off and were takeing it too the nearest town to get another part. To make a long story short we were on the road in about 8 hours later. Me and my friend Char sat on the side of the freeway with our two dogs and a broken down truck and trailer for 6 hours, My husband hit his had with the wrench while he was pounding the broken piece off and was in pain all weekend! We have a dr. appointment for him in the morning to see if he broke it.
When we got there the grass was up to our knees so that was a LOT of fun trying to mow thru that. We haven't been up there since the middle of may. so we kinda expected it to be long.
Our trip home today was a bit better , but not a whole lot. We hit terrible thunder storms and lots of flooding , very slow going and lots of crazy drivers on the freeway that shouldn't be driving!
Gee I feel so much better now that I had all of us to lend me your ear!. You all deserve this freebie if you made it to the end of this post! LOL
I'm sure tomorrow is going to be a much better day, at least I'm hoping that we find out Jims hand isn't broken. Cross your fingers for us.

Hi All- what do you think of my new background? It took me all afternoon and evening to get it all back together again. I always have such a time doing this- have no idea why!.......Thats why I don't try to make my own.
I gotta get things ready tomorrow to go to the cabin this weekend. We are heading up there on Sat (early) and coming back sometime on Monday.
We're taking the 4-wheelers up there so we can do a little riding and the guys are going to check out their trails and stands for hunting season. We also have to change our heating source from fuel oil to gas before next april. It's a 6 hour drive up there and we only get there about 4 times during the summer and then in Nov for deer hunting season. so we have to work as well as play when we go up. It seems like there is always repairs to do and the grass always needs mowed.
Hopefully it's a little cooler up there then it is here.

Hi everyone, I'm finally home from our vacation. Had a wonderful time in beautiful Colorado andgot to spend a week with all three of our kids and all our grandkids. Hi you all, I'm back!

Just getting things ready for our trip at the end of the week. Just a few more days and we will be heading for Colorado for a week and I get to see my baby girl. The only sad thing is that we have to take our grandson home. But I think he is probably ready to get home to mom and dad.

I hope all of you are staying cool, I know this heat wave is all over the country so most of you are feeling it too. It actually started cooling off here about 8 pm and it's only in the 80's for the next 2 days and then on Friday it starts to heat up again.

While we're out in Colorado I get to see my brother and his wife too, they are out there for a couple months -camping- fishing and just seeing the sights. They have a little camper and they travel all over. He's from Missouri, so we don't see each other very often. So we are planning on a day to get together and visit and catch up on whats happening. I can't wait!

Thanks to those of you that left a little note telling me about yourself, it just makes it a little more friendly and like someone is actually visiting here. It was very nice, hope you do it often.

The wordart that i have posted tonight I did months ago and then wasn't sure about posting it. But tonight , I thought "What the heck" maybe someone will like it and have a use for it. If not, that's ok too.

Hi just a silly one tonight, Hope someone can use it.
A rather quiet day today, Jim was sleeping most of the day (he worked all night) I had the boys for part of the day , but they were either downstairs playing video games or outside.
Tyler stayed with Rhonda and the boys again tonight, so it was just Jim and me for supper , so we went out. Mexican__Yummy!
Tomorrow is going to be Tator tot hotdish I think, we haven't had that for a long time and Iknow it is somthing Ty likes.
I thought the A.C. might go off today and I would open widows-not! And it doesn't look very promising for the next few days either.

Hi All- something a little different today hope you all like it anyway, even if it isn't my usual funny stuff.
Had the A.C. off for a few hours today, but had to put it back on tonight, just to warm up stairs to sleep good.
Tyler went over to his other grandpas place today and is spending the night with him. They are going golfing in the morning and then he will be comeing back here sometime tomorrow.
We are going up to Kathy and Lonnys on the 4th and having a BBQ. jim works tomorrow and then starts back again on Tuesday. It's been a long week for him. 6-- 12 hour days out of 7 days and then with this heat, it has been a bad one.

Our grandson and son-in-law got here last night and we all had a great time at the BBQ and enjoyed catching up on all the news. Poor Kim is left back in Colorado and is feeling a bit left out! Scott left this morning for up North. He had to meet all the other guys up in Warroad and they were all heading out fishing tomorrow. We finally seen some sun today! Boy was that nice, but I got a feeling that its going to start getting really hot, and that I don't like to much. It sounds like I'm really hard to please and really I'm not.

Tomorrow is the big day, our son-in-law and grandson Tyler are coming. Scott will just be here one night and Then he is heading up into Canada fishing. Tyler will stay here with us.

There have been a lot of plans made for him while he is here. Golfing with his other grandpa, valley fair, water park, and a ton of other things, so it doesn't sound like he will have a chance to get to lonely or bored. At least we hope not.

My wordart for today is how I feel on some of my bad days! Thank goodness I don't have a lot of real bad days. LOL

Hi Everyone. It's been a few days since I have been on here. Jim has been home and we have been getting a few odd and ends jobs done around the house, got some more railing for the deck up in between rain showers! We have had a lot of rain here this last week and the weather is really cool for June. It didn't get out of the low 60's here today. It's suppose to start warming up in the next few days- sure hope so- not that I want it in the 90's NO! High 70's low 80's is good for me. LOL
We did get to Kenzies soccer game the other night, but they canceled Maggies softball game the next night because of the condition of the fields. So we haven't made it to any of her games yet. Hopefully next week. Just a few more days and Tyler will be here to spend a few weeks with us. Everyone is getting anxious. And we're all looking forward to heading out to Colorado at the end of July.
Jims goes back to work tomorrow, so I might get a few things done on the computer! sluff off time!! Just kidding I don't do that!

This is very true for my house this week, haven't done the cleaning I should have.
Today has been a awful day.
My aunt has been in the hospital in the cities for going on 2 weeks now. we thought she was getting better and my mom got a call from the dr this morning that she wasn't doing so good. So mom called and ask us if we could take her up to the cities to see her. We got there to late. She passed away 20 minutes before we got there. What a shock! Making the phone calls to the relatives is the hardest thing anyone has to do.!

hi All- things are rather quiet around here- and I rather like it this way, at least some days! LOL It was the last day of school for the kids here- they had a half day, so I went and picked the boys up from school and brought them home with me. So they spent the afternoon with me. It was nice to have them here. They will be here half days with me during the summer. Tyler will be coming here at the end of the month from Colorado and will be spending just about a month with us. We all can hardly wait! We will take him home in July when we all go out for a visit. It will give mom and dad some time alone- I don't think they have ever had any time without him since he was born. They being in the military, there was never any family around to ship him off to for the weekend! LOL
We have Maggie's birthday party tomorrow, she turns 8 and is the baby of the family. And then on Sunday we are having a little party for a friend - it's his birthday on Monday, I won't give away his age. Jim works tomorrow so he is going to meet us up there at Kathy and Lonnys, being he is already up in that area.

how have you all been dealing with the hot weather? We broke a record at 103 degrees here yesterday! It was HOT! The humidity made it almost unbearable! Now today was back in the low 80s and tomorrow it's only suppose to be in the 70's. We turned the air off and opened our windows this morning, now tonight it's getting so cool we have to shut our windows! Talk about weird weather! LOL
Jim goes back to work in the morning after 7 days off, at least he was home during the HOT spell. With the big paper machine he runs ----it gets mighty hot in there.
Well getting ready to go get a bit of sleep- 4 am comes real fast.

It's been hot as blazes here today, as I suppose it has been all over the country. They are saying "bad" storms tonight- sure hope not. Been busy today doing all kinds of odd jobs. You know one of those days that you are busy all day but it doesn't seem like you did anything! Jim has the next 7 days off so I think we are going to replace our carpet in the back porch. That is where we come into the house at and it seems to get the blute of the dirt and wear and tear.
I had to order a new belt for my vaccum cleaner, the brush wasn't picking anything up- especially the dog hair. So I am using the "little" stairs brush on my dining room rug and the rug in the porch! Not good! Thank goodness we have hardwood in the rest of the main level.
We have the new panels ordered for our garage door, but they won't be in for about 2 weeks. Did I tell ya that we had to get 2 new panels. cause hubby was backing out of the garage and the door decided to come down about that time?! LOL It was 4:30 in the morning, so maybe he wasn't all the way awake yet!
I think our repair list is finally getting shorter, after these two things get done all we have left is putting the railing around the deck, which will be a big project, but we have all summer to get it done.
I had to bring down our old computer monitor because Jims flat screen quit working yesterday, boy I forgot how big those really are and how much room they take up on the desk. He doesn't use his desk top PC much any more= most of the time he uses my laptop. But it's nice to have it set up for when the grandkids come over.
Well, going to go and watch a little Criminal Minds before I go to bed. We watched "Americas Got Talent " last night and it was so darn funny.

I'm back- do you have any friends that would say this to you- I do!! LOL Most of them reading this right now would say " I would never say that to you" - yes they would!. But I love them because I know that they really do care.
We are heading up to Northern Minn in the morning - going to our hunting cabin in the woods. We will be doing a bit of spring cleanin g and a lot of 4-wheeling. Just talked to a friend up there and she tells me that they are expecting rain all weekend. That bites the bullet!! We are suppose to get rain here all weekend too- so where should we be?? Probably here, at least then I can play on my computer, we have no internet service up there. But guess what I'm sure the guys are going to vote for the cabin. So I have my wine and a good book and friends to spend time with, so what more could I ask for~~~~right? Right!

Hi everyone I am done with the date stamps, at least for now.
I've been busy planting flowers while we have had a few sunny days. It's suppose to start raining again on 'Thursday, so I thought I had better get all the flowers done, while I had a chance. We are heading up North to the cabin on Friday, so we won't get anything done around here this weekend. This will be our first trip up there this spring, so we will be getting it cleaned and set up for the summer.
I'm trying to learn a new graphic program PSP. boy does that give a person a headache! LOL
I love my Photoimpact but they won't be making any more up-dated programs, so I figured I should learn another program too. I will probably still use this most of the time tho.

We got a really nice spring- storm during the night and early this morning, woke up to hail hitting the window. We actually left the window open last night, first time this spring we have done it. LOL We had a wonderful time in Colorado visting with the kids and seeing the beautitful country of Colorado. Boy is it grand! I started my spring cleaning today- yuck what a job- cleaning windows walls, ceiling fans andwashing curtains and all the glass stuff that is nic-nacky stuff. I did get the wp-stairs finished, will be starting on the basement (family room and rec room) tomorrow and after I get that done I can start on the kitchen and living room on the main floor. I really hate washing those darn mini blinds!! We got home on Monday night and Tuesday we spent part of the day outside raking and stuff and un-packing of course.
