We roll them out, cut them, then bake and the kids have more fun decorating them. I have a lot of sprinkles that hit the floor well before they ever get on the cookies. But it is now a tradition, and even tho the grandkids are growing up, it makes for a fun day for all the cousins to get togather  and catch up on each others life. And let me tell you, this grandma loves it too!

We are still having spring like weather here in our part of Minnesota, in high 30s-low 40s, what little bit of snow we had is slowly melting. It's been a fine mist of rain here for part of the day, so more snow has went. They say we might get a little bit of new snow before Christmas and then after Christmas expecting to get more. Whatever happens , it sure is going to make the winter a lot shorter.
I finally got all the gifts wrapped, cards sent out, meals planned (most) and am now planning some games for us all to do Christmas Eve. Have you guys done the " saran wrapped ball" game?. If you haven't you should google it . It's a lot of fun for kids and adult. We did it last year and I got the stuff for it again this year. Well better go and get something done, it's just about time to start supper.

this that long. I figured that those of you who weren't around back then might like
this for those Christmas cookie layouts. I just finished a hug batch of my traditional
Christmas sugar cookies. Usually I have all the grandkids here helping with each step.
This year being I'm still not feeling even close to "normal" I thought I would just do
them over a couple days. Mix them up one day, roll out and cut one day and then
another day to frost them. Grandkids weren't real happy with me. So next year it's
back to having my helpers.
Not much snow here yet, which is fine with me, I can't do any shoveling this year, so that leaves the whole job up to Jim.
I think I will post a few more of the older Christmas one in the next few day, and whoever wants them can grab them.    Have a great weekend everyone, Still warm and safe.

Good morning, We got our first snow last night, not much, but enough to shovel sidewalk and deck off, and freeze my hands! Jim went out hunting this morning early , so he wasn't here to do it, so that just left me. We are having our yearly cookie exchange  at my house today, so had to make sure there was no icy spots on sidewalk. I still gotta go walk Chinook, as soon as my hands warm up and then I need to vacuum over the house quick.
This is a old Christmas one that I did a few years back, will get a new one made soon. Hope you can use this one. Have a wonderful Sunday and stay warm.

Merry Christmas to you all, Hope you are going to spend it with all your Loved Ones.
We are, thank the Lord, the sad part is that my mom won't be spending it with us and
doesn't realize that it is Christmas even. We will go and visit her of course, but it's too hard to take her out and about in the cold and snow and she is in a wheel chair and none of our houses are set-up for wheel-chairs.
Snow hasn't hit here yet, expecting some Christmas night, I was looking forward to Snow for Christmas, but now that we haven't had any, I'm just as happy not getting any. I don't miss the shoveling!

Hello there, I decided to do One old Christmas cluster for those of you that don't have it and the alpha that I did quite a while ago and just haven't given it away to you all, wasn't sure if they were good enough to post or not.
We are waiting anxiously for next Sat., our youngest daughter and family are coming from Colorado and it can't get here fast enough! LOL 
My mom is settled into her apartment in the memory care and seems to be doing ok, In fact she is back to her old self now that she is back on her regular meds that she hasn't been taking for a year! She plans on going back to her Trailer next spring, she says that she will stay there until then and then wants to go home.
My jury Duty commitment is done on Friday, thank heavens, it's been a long two weeks, not knowing from day to day if they are going to call you in, really can't plan anything.
It was up to 39 degrees today and now tomorrow we are expecting a pretty good snow storm! Cold is coming back-yucks!
Well gotta go call my momma and see how she is doing tonight, we were over to visit her this morning for a little bit, but I like to check on her in the evenings.

I hate it , but I guess it's the best of 2 things----getting older or being dead! LOL  This hasn't been a real good last few weeks. My mom is 83 and we have been trying to get her into assisted living/memory apartment. We have been busy getting all the paper work done (my sister) handled that part like a expert. a nd getting her apartment furnished. We decided that we didn't want to leave her in her trailer alone, so she stayed here at our house for the last week and then on Sat I took her to my sisters ( we live only 20 miles apart) and she is staying there until we move her into her studio apartment on Wed. Anyway we took her to see here new apartment today and she wasn't happy.  The fastest way to break a persons heart is to see their mother cry! Even tho' it's something we know we have to do to protect her , I understand how she must be feeling. To have someone else tell you where and how you are going to live has to really suck!!!
I'm going over on Wed to go with them when she moves in and then we will have lunch with her there. I cry every time I think about this. Sorry.

not going out, but Jim has to leave here at 5am for work  and he has about 20 miles to drive. I hate it, would much rather have snow then freezing rain.

hi everyone, It's late, but thought I would get this posted before bed.
I finally got about 99% of my shopping done- WooHoo! Just one gift left to buy for jim. I even have all of the ones that I bought wrapped. I still have a couple coming in the mail, should get those tomorrow.
I have most everything done that I need to get done before the kids come on Sat. just clean my house before then. Jim has to work Thurs. Friday and Sat nights, so he won't be here when the kids arrive, but he will see them the next morning. Scott will be riding in the back with his foot propped up, so it will be a long day of traveling for all 3 of them. We are just hopeing that if it snows before they come, that it does it before Friday.

I did,up a new Christmas one for you , hope you like it.It's the first of anything I have done on the computer for a few weeks, as far as my blog.
The snow just started here about 15 minute ago and I guess we can get up to 6 inches in some parts of the state, right around here I think we are looking at around 3. But it wasn't suppose to start for another 2 hours, so who knows. The storm route could have switched.
I did some more baking today, so I have quite a bit of stuff baked up. And all my cookies are done for the cookie exchange, which is a week from this Sunday.
hope all of you are getting things ready for Christmas at your house.
 What is your most favorite thing that you do with your Family at Christmas.
 Our big thing is Christmas Eve, We have Chili, oyster Soup and Ham Sandwiches. And then in the evening we open our presents from each other. Then it's sitting around and playing games. This has been our "menu" for the last 5 years, we discovered we would rather enjoy each others company then have a huge meal, and spend all our time in kitchen.
So tell me about your Christmas or Christmas Eve.

Hi everyone- I thought I would give you a Christmas one tonight.
Had a busy last 2 days- our daughter and family got here yesterday afternoon. It was so good to have them here. Had a packed house last night and again today. The kids will be here for 2 weeks! Lonny and Kathy and girls came down to see them today.
Wed. Lonny and Kathy and girl;s will be back here- going to have all 5 grandkids help me make sugar cookies and then we frost and sprinkle all of them- they have a ball and so do us adults.Then Wed night we will be celebrating Zach and Jims birthdays. Jim's isn't until the 26th and zachs is the 31st. But all the guys are going to a hockey game on the 26th and Zach will be at his dad's house on his birthday. So grandpa and zach will be celebrating it early and together again. All the kids will be here for Christmas Eve and then on Christmas day they will be spending it with the other spouses family. So I guess Jim and I will be spending Christmas by ourself, but that will be ok- we'll either eat left-overs or go out and have dinner!!

Another snow storm is expected tomorrow- not sure how much we'll get yet- they are say 5 to 8 inches, I have no idea where we will shovel this next bunch to- snow banks are so high now.

Hi all- it's been a while since I've posted. So much has been going on here.We had some medical problems that needed looking into and it all turned out to be very good- thank heavens. I've been getting the house decorated for Christmas,Our daughter kim and family will be here from Colorado on the 18th. Trying to get all the gifts bought and wrapped and I've been sick for the last week and a half. I have got a little baking done, no cookie exchange for us this year( darn it) so we have to do all our own baking! LOL The cookie exchange is nice because you get so many different cookies. I usually take them and divide them and get about 5 or 6 different plates full. Freeze them and then just take them out of the freezers when I know that company is coming. Hopefully we can do it again next year.It's cold here and we have gotten a lot of snow and are expecting another foot tomorrow!!! Thank heavens for the snow blower! But with the new deck we have a lot of shoveling to do too, which is my job while Jim does the snow blowing (driveway and sidewalks) It's not suppose to start until tomorrow afternoon and snow all night and into Sat. I'm really glad we have all our christmas shopping done, this girl is staying close to home this weekend!!

I did today's wordart up because so many people that I've talked to the last few weeks haven't gotten into the Christmas spirit yet - hoping we all do soon. Count all your blessings, we have so much to be thankful for.

Hi Everyone- Hope you all had a Merry Merry Christmas and a great New Year Eve. We can all pray for a wonderful New Year ahead of us!!

We have had a busy last few days and that is why I haven't posted anything. We had a wonderful Christmas with all of our kids (except for our missing Scott) and all 5 of the grandkids. New years Eve was great- friends and family- good food and a bit of good wine!! Yesterday My brother and sister in law were here visiting and my sister (family) and mom and all my kids, so we had about 22 here all together. Had a great visit with all of them.

It's our last full day with Kim and Tyler- they head back to North Carolina tomorrow- I really don't want them to leave and I don't think either of them really want to go either. The family will all be together again today to spend a little time with them and to say their good-byes. Punk and Doris and mom will be back today to visit a bit and Bob will be over to spend time with them too.

It's -25 here this morning and that is NOT with any wind chill! It's cold!!!!!!!!!!! I had Chinook out a bit ago and had to take garbage out to curb for pick-up and everything is crunchy.
Next week I will take down the tree and all the decorations- it's time---but boy do I hate this job! But my house needs a good dusting, so I guess that will be my job on Monday.
